Make sure that you are mowing in a straight line unless you are going for a more creative design. This can be done by either lining up the rear roller with the previous stripe , it is best to look about 10 ft infront of the mower to assist with the lining up of the stripe.
Ensure the blades are sharp, the sharper the blade the cleaner the cut.
Cut at a height of 25mm for optimum striping, the longer grass blades allow the light to refect of them when they have been cut and rolled.
Mow frequently, at leat 2-3 times a week with a rear roller mower. We recommend a cylinder mower for the best effect however this needs to be used on only a very flat lawn,
Roll over each stripe more than once in the same direction when cutting, change this every few weeks so your lawn doesn't become uneven.
Keep your lawn free from weeds to keep your stripes looking their best. Remove any debris from the lawn before you start cutting.
To allow nutrients to get to the roots of the grass remove any thatch using a scarifer, de-thatcher cartridge on your cylinder mower or a rake.
Avoid scuffing up your edges as you turn by tipping the mower back on the roller and stopping when you get to the end of the stripe.
